CE/CME Credit Information
Here is a listing of IAHB`s current accreditations, organized by profession and, when appropriate, by state. Please note: Not all courses produced by IAHB and/or its joint sponsors qualify for credit for all professions. Regulations of some accrediting bodies may allow their members to claim credits in addition to those earned for actual content hours. ALCOHOLISM & DRUG ABUSE COUNSELORS: Approved by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors Approved Provider Program (NAADAC Approved Education Provider #187). Provider approved by CAADAC Provider #4S-86-074-0111, an ICRC member which has reciprocity with most ICRC member states.
CEAPS: IAHB submits all programs to the Employee Assistance Certification Commission (EACC) for course approval.
COUNSELORS & MFCCs/MFTs: IAHB is an NBCC Approved Continuing Education Provider (ACEPTM) and may offer NBCC approved clock hours for events that meet NBCC requirements. The ACEP solely is responsible for all aspects of the program. Approved by the Illinois Dept. of Professional Regulations (Provider # 168-000119). Our courses meet the qualifications for MFTs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #PCE36). IAHB has been approved by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists to provide continuing education activities.
NURSES: IAHB is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Utah Nurses Association (UNA), an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center`s Commission on Accreditation (Provider Code P09-03). Courses are offered for 1 credit hour for each 60-minute contact hour. Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN Provider CEP #2672).
PHYSICIANS: The Institute for the Advancement of Human Behavior is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. IAHB designates these educational activities for a maximum of one AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM per hour attended. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
PSYCHOLOGISTS: IAHB is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor CE for psychologists. IAHB maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
SOCIAL WORKERS: IAHB is approved by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners (Provider #0103); the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation (Provider #159-000223); and the State of Maryland Board of Social Work Examiners to sponsor Category I continuing education programs. All currently listed workshops meet the qualifications for LCSWs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (Provider #PCE-36). As an approved provider for the Texas State Board of Social Work Examiners, IAHB offers continuing education for Texas licensed social workers in compliance with the rules of the board. (License # 3876); MC 1982, PO Box 149347, Austin, TX 78714. IAHB is co-sponsor with R. Cassidy Seminars, ACE Provider # 1082 approved as a provider for social workk continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB), www.aswb.org through the Approved Continuing Education (ACE) Program. R. Cassidy Seminars maintains responsibility for the program. Social workers should contact their regulatory board to determine course approval.
NOTE: Many state-level boards have reciprocity with national accrediting organizations or other state boards. Also, some boards do not accredit home study programs, or place a limit on the number of home study hours accepted for credit. Please contact your licensing board regarding their policies on reciprocity and home study accreditation. Except as noted above, IAHB, as the approved sponsor, maintains responsibility for the courses offered and for following the standards and regulations for the organizations listed.
